The World of Alteria: Narrative Demo

This was a team project, the blog on this site details the week to week updates. my role was as the gameplay programmer and general prototype management. We decided the best way to focus on the world and story, was to implement a classic turn based combat, similar to early Dragon Quest titles. This way the story would be accessible to a greater reach of players, it also follows one of the key ideas of the story with the ability to remove party members at key moments of the story, allowing us to have a low point for the hero.

Engine: Unreal Engine 4
Goal: Narrative project with emphasis on gameplay – cutscene – gameplay with a story and world within the Hero’s journey (Team project)
Time Estimate: 2.5 months
